Dear Isabella,
You and I traveled to Wisconsin to see Grammy and Grampa. We got stuck in the Detroit airport on the way up. Delta Airlines canceled our flight from Detroit to Appleton, so we had to spend the night at a hotel in Detroit. You loved it!! You thought it was hilarious. I wasn't so excited. We didn't have a change or clothing or even a toothbrush. You thought it was a grand adventure and giggled all night in our king-sized bed.
We finally got to Wisconsin the next morning. You had soooo much fun playing with the dogs, especially Molly. You and Grampa really hit it off. He made you giggle and giggle.
We left on Friday, and guess what? They canceled our flight again. I was very frustrated, but I was able to find a flight home from Milwaukee. Grampa drove us. Daddy was sooooo excited when he picked us up. He really missed you. You were supposed to go to a parents' night out party at your school so Daddy and I could go out. But, we all decided to stay home and play with your Christmas toys.
Oh, I must tell you something. You are a fantastic traveling companion. Everyone commented on how well behaved you were on the plane. You really were a pleasure.

Christmas!
Dear Isabella,
You LOVED Christmas. Sitty came to stay with us, and you were so very sweet. You brought her her cane and "helped" her get dressed each day.
Santa brought you a kitchen. You love it! The funny thing is that Daddy had to help Santa put it together. Daddy and Justin started the kitchen at 9:00 and finished at 4:00 in the morning. It is an amazing kitchen. It has a washer, dishwasher, ironing board, and refrigerator with a water dispenser.

Christmas Party
Friday was your school Christmas party, and you and I made all of the treat bags for your friends. We gave everyone a kazoo, a straw, some bubbles and play dough, pretzels, and a candy cane. I was able to spend an hour at the school that morning. My job was to entertain you all while the teachers got the party food ready. I brought a stack of your Christmas books to read to the class; however, you were angry that other kids were looking at YOUR books. You screamed, "MINE!!!" over and over. After a minute of so, you settled down and were willing to share. It was a nice. I really enjoyed being at your party. Thanks.
Ice Storm
Dear Isabella,
Wednesday night an ice storm came through. Daddy slept at the station, but you and I stayed at home. I was terrified that the power would go out, so I bought extra batteries, blankets, and food in advance. We didn't need any of that because the power never went out. Thursday, you and I cuddled, painted, and did a lot of puzzles. It was really nice.

Baby, it's COLD!!
Dear Isabella,
It's been very, very cold, but we've still been having a lot of fun.
Sunday, we took you to see Santa. You were rather nervous about sitting on his lap, so I had to sit with you. That made for an interesting photo. After, you rode the train and LOVED it. There was a snow machine that sprayed snow on you. You enjoyed it and giggled so hard.
Monday, we had a snow day. Daddy had to work, but we stayed home, baked cookies, colored, and watched lots of Christmas movies. You love Frosty, Rudolph, and Beauty and the Beast.
Oh, and you hate mittens. I'm not sure why. I guess that you're not used to wearing them; however, you continue to LOVE lipstick. Even more than lipstick, you love looking at yourself wearing lipstick. After you apply it, I have to lift you up so that you can see yourself in the mirror. And so it begins...

Sick Day with Daddy
Dear Isabella,
You stayed home another day. We wanted to make sure that all was well, and you still had a bit of a fever at 3:00 AM when you woke up screaming and demanded to watch Melmo (that's Elmo from Sesame Street).
You and Daddy had a big time. The highlight of the day was the very long and complicated tea party that involved real water in your teapot. Even though Daddy was home, he had some work to do. He had an important conference call at 11:30. He said you were fantastic; you watched Melmo and were as quiet as a mouse.

Sick Day
Dear Isabella,
This morning you woke up with a slight fever. I think you were a little warm all weekend, but I didn't have thermometer at Sitty's house. I stayed home with you. We had a tea party, watched a Christmas movie about dogs, assembled puzzles, and watched a lot of Yo Gabba Gabba and Sesame Street. I prepared your favorite lunch: pizza, applesauce, craisins, and juice.
You are napping now. I hope the sleep fairy can heal you.
Get well, Izzy.

Sitty's House
Dear Isabella,
This weekend we went to Birmingham to see Sitty. You really like her, and you were a very sweet girl all weekend. You stayed alone with Sitty while Daddy and I went running and picked up lunch. We got Demitri's BBQ. You ate it up!
You had a lot of fun playing with Uncle Mike and pushing around your shopping cart and riding your new Fropper. The best part of the night was watching Auburn clinch the SEC championship. You looked very cute in your Auburn dress!!

Wine
Daddy and I usually have a glass of wine with dinner. You have now decided that you would like some wine, too. You say, "Wine! Wine! " very clearly. We pretend (I'm sorry about lying to you.) to pour wine in your glass and you smile like crazy.
